The exact cause of his death has been a subject of speculation and controversy, with some suggesting that he succumbed to complications related to cancer. However, the Voice of Amilcar Cabral, during Nkrumah’s funeral in 1972 emphatically stated ” Let no one tell us that Nkrumah died of cancer of the throat or some other disease. No! Nkrumah has been killed by the cancer of betrayal that the world should uproot”.
