Work in China
English teaching is a sought after occupation in many schools around the world where English is not the native language or first language but is a requirement when travelling around the world. To work as a teacher independently governments require that a teacher is fully qualified with an undergraduate qualification, as well as at least 2 years’ experience working in the teaching field with children or adults, with a TEFL qualification preferred. As a foreigner you remain uncommon in many parts of the world and one of the challenges of visiting is the need to understand that everything is different to what you may have experienced previously. Many cultures around the world do not understand the needs of foreign people – their experience is very limited. You need to expect that some customs and work practices are different and you may encounter some degree of culture and shock and frustration as you settle within the country. It is important that you have the aptitude and independence to deal with these issues and are ready to meet the challenges head on. it will be very rewarding for those who can.
During your application you might have made a request for a particular country, this could have been in Asia Europe or Africa etc. Please note though we endeavor to provide you with your preference there are by no means guaranteed. You will be advised of your actual placement country towards the end of the 4 week TEFL training period.
Placements are based on the schools and the safety of the country and the selection will be made to ensure all our students will be safe within our care and the care of the group leaders.
JBD Travel will ensure the students will be able to cover the transport to and from school within the destination by public transport or minibus. The students are in charge of their own flights to and from the country they have chosen to travel to.
Whilst we will provide you with as much information as possible about the school the placement you will be based at will give you a private tour of the school and induct you into a program where you will know everything about the school and the code of conduct of a school and how they expect you as a \Teacher to behave with the students and what is expected of you as a Teacher Intern.
During the holiday period and at the end of your placement at the school. You will be able to travel within the country to any destination. this will be at your own expense we will allocated a few days or extended period of time organised prior to your travel of where you wish to do after the placement and we will also have planned excursions that we as a company will take you on so you can explore the country and learn the culture and have a unique lessons learning how to cook and speak the local languages and maybe lear a few sporting activities depending on your own personal preferences your trip teaching and traveling will be a trip of a lifetime that you will never forget.
